ALL SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY WITH THE MINNEAPOLIS STRIKE!
ICE DEATH SQUADS OUT OF MINNEAPOLIS AND ALL STATES!
Minneapolis showed the path that the entire nation must follow, to confront the war being implemented against migrant workers and working class, by the bipartisan Trump administration. A general strike and mass mobilization in the streets was the response, and even in freezing temperatures, it was preceded by spontaneous student walkouts, unions, immigrant rights groups, a clergy coalition, various community and left-wing organizations. The call was: NO WORK, SCHOOL, SHOPPING, ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA, A DAY OF TRUTH AND FREEDOM!
Thousands of immigrant working families separated, abused, outraged, and brutally repressed. The raids have taken place at hospitals, schools, homes, in the streets and workplaces. Within this state of repression, ICE has committed extreme cases such as the murder of Renée Nicole Wood, who was a poet and defender of immigrants; she was shot and killed by an ICE agent.
Then, the morning after the great heroic march of 01-23-26, several agents beat the immigrant activist, legal observer, veteran hospital nurse, Alex Pretti; who was peacefully protecting two women against ICE, and while beating him up on the ground they murdered him. Before this last case, also in Minneapolis, ICE agents captured 5-year-old Lian Conejo Ramos, a few minutes earlier they had captured his father and used him as bait to try to capture the mother, sending him to knock on the door while the father already in the hands of the agents screamed desperately not to open the door. When they could not capture the mother, they took the detained child to Texas, south of the country.
These are just three examples of the critical national situation for which thousands came out to march. Corriente Obrera has been arguing that it is necessary to take the struggle to higher levels, not only to say NO KINGS!, ICE OUT!, but also to call for the defeat and removal of Trump and his entire administration from power.
Our call is to build a new political, working-class and popular alternative, to take power and kick out that corrupt corporate power that Democrats and Republicans represent, which for the moment is being led by the directly repressive and shameless ultra-right, and which will then be replaced by another Democratic ultra-right, perhaps a little more diplomatic.
Just remember what the more than 3 million deportees suffered by the Democratic Obama administration, under a total information gag imposed on all the «information» media, as well as the allied NGOs that receive Democratic and corporate money; that hid all the raids, arrests, humiliations and deportations, and that we can see today in one form or another.
The resistance struggle exists and tries to be effective at the national level, but the control that Democrats and Republicans exert over it prevents it from advancing and fully responding to the interests of immigrants and the working class. Only by taking steps to free it from that influence will it begin to firmly and consistently achieve the goals of immigrants, poor people, and the working class.
MINNEAPOLIS SHOWS THE WAY TO FIGHT BACK: Let’s follow the example of this struggle and push for a NATIONWIDE GENERAL STRIKE!
With the action of the masses, generate mechanisms of prevention and self-defense, to get ICE out of all places!
For the dissolution of ICE! Legalization for all immigrants without restrictions!
ZERO CONFIDENCE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, its allies and police departments which always cooperate with ICE!
