Latin American countries should break the energy blockade

International mobilization against the recolonization plan.

After the attack on Venezuela, having achieved not only the kidnapping of Maduro and his wife, but also placing the Chavista regime at the service of his recolonization plan, Trump turns against Cuba.

He has created a veritable energy siege by imposing great fees on countries that sell oil to Cuba[1].The Chavista regime participates in this attack since, following Trump’s orders, Delcy Rodríguez government cut off oil shipments to Cuba

The arguments are similar to those used to justify the attack on Venezuela: Cuba would be a danger to U.S. national security. It would be a struggle of democracy against dictatorship.

None of that is true. Trump is not interested in whether there is democracy, dictatorship, monarchy or any kind of regime. This is proven not only by the good relations the U.S. has always maintained with regimes such as Saudi Arabia, but also by recent events in Venezuela. Despite the false illusions of Venezuelan immigrant workers that Trump’s operation opened the doors to «democracy,» the U.S. president had no problem with the Chavista regime continuing in power, under his direction, to guarantee the objectives in relation to Venezuelan oil. Trump, like all imperialism, may have more or less confidence in one regime or another, as well as, when needed, impose a transition to the liberal opposition in Venezuela. But the central issue, for him, is to move towards a colonial or protectorate regime, which guarantees total control of the largest oil reserve in the world.

Regarding Cuba, the same recolonizing objective is expected. Although Trump is perceived as leading the offensive, the recolonization plan, contrary to what the majority on the left says, is not an attack by the «extreme right» but by Yankee imperialism as a whole.

Most of the Yankee bourgeoisie wants to participate in the big business that capitalist restoration opened up in Cuba, so far only the Europeans have been partially able to take advantage of that, because Yankee bourgeoisie are limited by the economic embargo that still exists. That is why this sector of the bourgeoisie, which includes both Democrats and Republicans, has been in favor of lifting the embargo for years, not because they want to help Cuba, but because they want total freedom to do their business on the island, appropriating all its wealth, especially those that have to do with tourism, since it is the largest tourist reserve in the world. In addition, there is a large mining reserve that has not been exploited.

The embargo is not lifted because there is another sector, the Cuban bourgeoisie of Miami, very powerful, even electorally, that is against it. What they want is to recover the properties that the revolution expropriated from them, now in the hands of the new Cuban bourgeoisie created after the restoration or controlled by the powerful Castro bureaucracy

That is to say, everyone, in one way or another, wants to colonize Cuba. Trump is the one who speaks louder, which is why he mentioned several times that the Yankee Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, of Cuban origin, would be a good president for Cuba.

Now he affirms that, since Cuba cannot live without oil, the government is going to negotiate. For its part, the Cuban government says it will not accept blackmail. Does Trump intend to apply the same policy as in Venezuela? The return of properties is not something that can be achieved through negotiation, and without that he will have problems with the Cuban bourgeoisie in Miami.

In any case, the energy siege is maintained and Cuba’s oil reserves are running out. It is a brutal attack on the entire population that is already suffering the consequences with the unbridled increase in transport and food.

We do not have the slightest political agreement, we are enemies of the Cuban dictatorship that, under the leadership of Fidel Castro, restored capitalism[2]on the island, putting an end to the conquests of the revolution and which today exercises a totalitarian and strongly repressive government over workers, young people and the population as a whole. Ending that dictatorship is the task of the Cuban workers and people, not of imperialism that speaks of democracy while not only sustaining genocide in Gaza, but attacking immigrants, killing those who defend them as in Minneapolis.

What happened in Venezuela and now in Cuba, confirms that the great alternative for the workers and peoples of Latin America is: socialist revolution or colony. There are no intermediate alternatives as proven by the so-called «progressive» governments (Lula, Petro, Boric,) that in the face of the imperialist attack do not go beyond declarations of protest but don’t dare to disobey the imperialist master.

Today the great task is to confront the recolonization plan, defending Cuba from the attack of imperialism, with which the Chavista regime collaborates.

The Cuban government, which says it is not willing to accept blackmail, should call on the Latin American peoples and governments to a great international mobilization against Trump’s recolonization plan, freeing all political prisoners and guaranteeing popular armament to defend against any attack. We do not believe that it will, because they are afraid that the people will turn those weapons against the dictatorship that oppresses, exploits and represses them.

In 1961, after the triumph of the revolution and the expropriation of the bourgeoisie, Cuban exiles, organized by the CIA and under the command of «democrat» John Kenedy, invaded Cuba to try to regain power and their properties.

The Bay of Pigs invasion began with an intense bombardment and the landing of 1,500 soldiers, backed by the powerful U.S. armed forces. The revolutionary Cuba that had expropriated the bourgeoisie, resisted, with more than 20,000 men (soldiers and militiamen) and in 48 hours they defeated the invaders and even sank the American supply ships.

Today, the Cuban government is facing a challenge similar to that of 1961. To resist the invader once again, or to surrender without a fight as the Chavista leadership and its 3,000 generals did?

We do not trust the Cuban government, just as we could not trust the Venezuelan government. We do not trust the Venezuelan or the Castro bourgeoisies, because they, as well as all the bourgeoisies, are cowards. They are very brave to confront workers and youth, but completely cowardly to confront the imperial master.

The only way to stop the colonization of Cuba is with the working class and the people in arms.

The defenders of Castroism and Chavismo say that imperialism cannot be defeated because of its military power. That is not true, as proven in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Imperialism can be defeated!

Down with the energy siege! Oil for Cuba!

The Mexican government pledged to continue sending oil. The Latin American governments of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, must do the same. Lula, who calls himself a friend of Cuba, should lead that task.

International mobilization against the imperialist offensive!

Let us impose with mobilizations, the rupture of diplomatic and economic relations with the United States, by all Latin American governments!

No confidence in the Castro dictatorship!

Yankees out of Latin America!

To truly stop imperialism, Cuba needs a new revolution, against the new Castro bourgeoisie and multinationals that dominate an important part of the Cuban economy, and to confront the Miami bourgeoisie.
